PROCESS DESCRIPTION

Straight run residue or VSB tar feedstock is preheated by heat recovery from product streams in an exchanger train before entering a furnace where temperature is typically increased to 410-430°C.
Heater effluent enters the Vacuum column where LVGO and HVGO are recovered as side steams while producing a Vacuum Residue.
Typical distillate yields range from 45 to 60% depending on feedstock characteristics and operating conditions.
